FG Intervention Programmes; Niger Receives #27bn in 5years.

Niger State Government has received over Twenty-Seven Billion Naira (N27 Billion) in the past five years for various Social Intervention Programmes initiated by the Federal government.
Barrister Amina Gu’ar, Special Adviser to the Governor of Niger State on Social Intervention, said this during a Press briefing in Minna, the State capital.
She disclosed that the Social intervention Programme (SIP) was of four components:
The N-Power, which has already gulped a sum of N11, 041, 290,000; the Conditional Cash Transfer- N3.8bn; the Home Grown School Feeding- N12, 226, 082, 400; while the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme stood at N951, 640,000.
Barrister Amina further mentioned that,“The Batch A of the N-Power Scheme commenced in 2016 with 4,467 and Batch B in 2017 with 7,704 beneficiaries of N30,000 monthly stipends.
“Home Grown School Feeding has over 14,000 beneficiaries in the State with 560,000 children, 5,971 cooks engaged and 1,146 local suppliers,” Gu’ar explained.
Barrister Gu’ar stressed that Bartch C of the N-Power is on going for onward beneficiaries to apply.
Barrister Gu’ar then applauded the Federal government for the social welfare initiative by investing in the lives of the poor and vulnerable across the State.
