kidnappers on prowl in kogi abducts medical Doctor
Barely 48 hours that a first class chief ,Adogu of Eganyi, Mohammed Adembe of Ajaokuta LGA was released after spending five days in the abductors’ gulag, a medical doctor , Dr. Solomon Nidiamaka attached to Ugwolawo General Hospital Ofu Local Government of the state has been abducted by bandits.
Dr. Nidiamaka was abducted from the hospital around 8.30pm.
A statement from the Kogi State Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, ( NMA), Dr Omakoji Simeon Oyiguh and the association secretary, Dr Famotele Talorunju confirmed the incident .
The statement read in part ” The State Officers of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Kogi State wishes to inform all concerned that our member, Dr Solomon Nidiamaka, who works at General Hospital Ugwolawo, Ofu Local Government Area was forcefully taken away by kidnapers around 8:30am today 19″ July 2021 from the hospital premises
“We call on the government of Kogi State and security agencies to work very hard towards his early and safe release”.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), in Kogi State, DSP William Ovye Aya said the command is not aware of the kidnap of Dr Solomon Nidiamaka.
He however promised to get back to our correspondent when he receive first hand information from the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State.
It would be recalled the upsurge of kidnappings in the state within the last week, as a pharmacist, a pastor and his wife was also kidnapped and their whereabout is still unknown .
