Niger NUP laments Government’s refusal to dialogue.

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners NUP Niger state council has faulted the refusal of not granting the Union audience by the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to discuss present issues confronting the council in the state.
The Union in a statement by it Secretary Abdullahi Baba Sani lamented that all efforts by the Amalgamation of local Government of Nigeria ALGON Niger state chapter request to discuss issue affecting Senior citizens in the state was turned down severally.
The Secretary of the Union Abdullahi Baba Sani expressed shock and disappointment with the available information that the local government council Chairmen in the state have statutory resumes responsibility of auditing and screening for last Pension allowance.
He however mentioned that the Union is not against the screening and auditing of Pensioners across the twenty five local government areas in state but decried the contour of suffering the pensioners will encounter during the exercise.
He then appealed to the local government Chairmen to settle last year October and last month, monthly pension to all local government pensioners before embarking on any screening excise at their respective council.
