Fear grips APC, PDP as 5000, defects to ADC.

” Hold Congress.

Palpable fears may have enveloped, both the All Progressive Congress APC and Peoples Democratic party PDP as no fewer than five thousand of their members have defected to the African Democratic Party. ADC in kogi state.

This is just as the Party has successfully held the congress , with the former chairman of the party, Hon
Ogga Temitope Kingsley being returned unopposed.

Speaking at the congress Venue in Lokoja, on Friday, the Member, representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide, commended the Delegates for their orderly and matured conduct of the congress
Hon . Abejide urged members to redouble their commitment to the party which was relatively unknown few years ago , but has become a household name across the state.

He disclosed that during the campaign, he did promise to pay WAEC fees for all final year students of Yagba Federal Constituency in public Secondary Schools which, opposition thought was a political statement, but has successfully paid the money before he was sworn- in in 2019.
He added that based on the pleas from the private schools owners in the Constituency for their inclusion in order not to send them out of business, he graciously included the private Schools in 2020 and 2021 examination years hoping to extend it to the Western zone and to across the state.
He explained that with his consistent payment of WAEC fees and the empowerment of the widows, he has successfully impacted on the life of every household in the Constituency.

He noted that his programme to spend five million naira on projects in Seventy one Communities has reached advanced stage, adding that 315 unemployed youths have received hundred thousand naira to support their livelihoods.

According to the Federal Lawmaker, he has provided science equipment, furniture to pupils of primary 1-6 and JSS1-3 and provided medical equipment to six hospitals in the Constituency disclosing that he has placed 150 Members of the Party on monthly salary.

The Lawmaker Assures of a bountiful Christmas and New celebration for widows in the federal Constituency, said motorcycles and vehicles would be shared during his mega empowerment program.

He said he is presently working on two federal roads, promised that he would in the next ninety days make the roads motorable, promised to focus on roads in 2022.

He charged the new Executive members to work assiduously to take over the state as the party has the wherewithal to win the hearts of the people who are yearning for change of ugly narrative in the state.

In a remark, the National Chairman of the Party Okey Nwosu thank the delegates for their conduct, urged them to forge ahead to take over kogi.
He commended Representative Leke Abejide for his purposeful leadership that has made the party tick in the state, saying it is the people’s driven leadership that has opened floodgates to mass decampees to the party.

Also speaking, Chief Shola Adebola Samuel, Chairman, State Congress Committee, commended the delegates for their peaceful Conduct, described ADC as a work in progress, would win more seats in the National and State Assembly election in 2023, said the party will takeover the leadership of Governance in the state in the next dispensation.

He described the revolution brought into , by Hon. Leke Abejide as reason why people are joining the ADC in drove, described him as a shining example for the positive development of the nation’s Politics.

The State Congress of the ADC was monitored by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission led by James Chide and other security agencies.

Highlights of the Congress was the Administration of oath of office on the newly elected Executives by Barr. Justina Abanida, who is the Deputy National Chairman of the ADC.

Similarly the new members were presented with ADC Party members cards by the North Central Zonal Chairman, with a charge to comb more nooks and crannies of the State to attract more members ahead the 2023 General election

It would be recalled that kogi state was the only state that ADC won a seat in the House of representatives.
