Niger Govt Assures Primary Schl.teachers of earning salary from First line charge

Niger state Teacher’s in public schools have been commended for their patience, endurance and understanding exhibited throughout the period of Sit At Home protest.
The commendation was made by the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teaches NUT, Niger state wing ,Comrade Akayago Adamu Mohammed during an interactive session with Journalists held at the NUT  Secretariat in Minna recently.
Comrade Akayago stated that it is the collective commitment of the teachers and the leadership at both state and the branches for standing firm and focused against both internal and external pressures that made the protest successful, “indeed we put a hard fight in the struggle for teachers emancipation ” he said.
He appreciated the commitment and cooperation of the Niger state organized labour for her  solidarity during the struggle which made the Sit At Home protest initiated by the Nigeria Union of Teaches NUT successful
He stressed that some of the achievements recorded are the stoppage of percentage payment of Teaches salaries by the Government as  henceforth teachers’ salary in all the local government areas shall be paid one hundred percent (100%).
On the issue of pending promotions and annual increments of Teaches salaries where exhaustively deliberated already full report and financial implications of all pending promotion and implementation of the twenty five local government areas are with the NSUBEB, and ministry for local government are working collectively for it realisation.
He added that the state and branches leaderships will continue to keep in touch with the various councils Chairmen and government educational agencies to ensure it realisation.
He mentioned that it was agreed that payment of subsequent salaries beginning from March 2022 shall be subjected to strict compliance to state local government joint account law’s (section 3 of the principal law as amended February 2021),stoppage of any form of deductions that are inconsistent with the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended,immediate removal of deaths, retiree’s and ghosts workers inserted in nominal roll’s and biometric payment vouchers of respective local government areas and payment of salaries as a first line charge by each local government areas once statuary deduction are made.
He then appreciated all members for their support, prayers, cooperation, endurance and understanding exhibited in the courses of the struggle.
