The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals Development and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu on his birthday, at the weekend flagged off GYB-WEEPnot program and empowered 30 women with a startup packages of N30,000 each.
Equally, Engr Bashiru offsetted the hospital bills of about 50 patients across General Hospitals in Koton karfe, health centres in Gegu Beki, Ahoko and Girinya.
Speaking on the reason behind the gestures, Engr. Bashiru Gegu said it the only way he can appreciate God Almighty for keeping me alive, says living life should be about giving and touching lives.
The Commissioner gave gratitude to God for the addition of another year, thanked Gov. Yahaya Bello for giving him the opportunity to serve and touch lives in many positive ways
The beneficiaries for the empowerment were picked across the 11 Wards of Kogi LGA.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hajiya Aminat Abdullahi expressed happiness to the Commissioner, described him as one in a million kind hearted man. She prayed for God to grant him long life and protection.
