The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party ,Peter Obi has assured the electorate of his determination to change the stealing of public fund syndrome to Healing and unite the country.
This is as he said , his government will move the country from consumption to production in order to create employment and reduce crime and criminality.
Obi gave the assurance on Tuesday at his campaign rally held in LoKoja, kogi state Capital.
According to him “It is a promise for I and my team as we are prepared to be held accountable. We will move Nigeria from a consuming Nation to a production one”.
“we will make sure that production starts from local level,we will increase minimum wage since the minimum wage today can hardly sustain workers,we should be able produce enough for consumption and even export to create wealth.
In his words,”Good people of Kogi state ,we are not here to buy your votes,we are here to tell you how we are going to save the country,we want to unite Nigeria,we want to bring the family back together,we want to bring back the rule of law”
“We will consult you before taking any decision on any matter that affects you because power belong to you.”
Obi also promised to ensure that the steel industry is revived to give strong backing to the economy.
“Steel industry is very important to the development of the Economy, therefore we will liase with professionals and experts who know what to do with the Ajaokuta steel company immediately we are sworn in .
The labour party presidential candidate urged the people to reject other parties at the polls even if they bring money to buy their votes.
“If they bring money , collect their money but vote against them at the polls . Tell them we want to follow those who know road.tell them that your tired of being in the wilderness” he stated.
In a remark, the vice Presidential candidate Ahmed Datti, noted that the other parties have been tried and failed, saying Nigeria should reject their promises which he said were meant to deceive the people.
He said the only party that can tackle poverty and insecurity is the labour party, which parades candidate with experience, capacity and capabilities that will take the country to path of growth and development.
Earlier,the convener of “Bring back our girls” campaign organisation Aisha Yesufu who was on the campaign train told the audience that “Nigeria needs Peter Obi as he ,he represents fearlessness needed to address the insecurities in the country.
“We are no longer safe in our own homes,we must vote for somebody we can hold accountable to provide good governance,our lives must be made matter we must vote for someone who can make our lives matter,Peter Obi is the one”.
“Nigerian youths are tired,of knowing someone before you can gain employment,vote for inclusiveness,let’s give Nigeria a president that is competent and can deliver us”. Aisha Yesufu added.
