Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Niger state chapter have written a letter of reminder to the state governor to address some of the lingering issues concerning it members in the state.
The Secretary of the Nigeria union of Pensioners, Niger state chapter, Comrade Abdullahi Baba Sani stated that it has become necessary for the letter,looking at the untold hardship it members are facing resulting to untimely death and sickness.
The Nigeria Union of Pensioners therefore appeals to the state Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello to as matter of urgency provide enough fund for the settlement of state and local government Retirees gratuities to advert further loss of live of members in the state before the expiration of his tenure.
The statement also appeals to the state Governor to look into the payment of November 2022 pension of both state and local government and to address the lingering issue of contributory pension scheme and to also effects payment of Pensioners that were converted to the new pension scheme who are currently subjected to difficulties and untimely death.
The statement also have it that there are Pensioners in the state who retired for the past nine years and are yet to access their monthly pension neither gratuities, adding that the Governor should take drastic action in addressing their plights.
The Union also appeals to Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello to tackle the issue of consequential adjustment of pension and the Harmonization of monthly pension.
The Union further appeals to Pensioners in the state to be prayerful, while the union pursuit their legitimate rights with the state government.
