The Rector, Federal polytechnic Idah, Dr. YB. Usman has approved the appointment of Dr. Onoja Abu as Director, Academic Planning.
In a press release signed by SS Omale, head Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, said the appointment is for a period of two years in the first instance.
He said the appointment which was signed by the Registrar and dated on the 8th, June, 2023 is with immediate effect.
According to the statement,Dr. O. Abu’s appointment is in recognition of is hard work and dedication to duty.
” His function as contained in his letter are as follows:
i . Developing Academic programmes for the institution;
ii. Liaising with the National Board for Technical Education in respect of resource inspection and accreditation of new programmes as well as reaccreditation of existing one;
iii . Liaising with professional bodies for accreditation and reaccreditation of programmes;
iv. Proposing annual academic calendar for the consideration of the Academic Board;
v. Keeping and updating students statistics in terms of admission and examination performance;
Vi. Serve as Desk officer of TETfund in respect of Staff Development and Training and Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Academic Board or the Rector.
“Dr. O.Abu by virtue of his appointment is a member of Academic Board , Management Committee, Staff Development Committee and any other relevant Committee in which he may be called to serve.
The Release further disclosed that the Dr. Abu was the Director,Industrial Training in the Institution before his new appointment.
