Kogi Police Command doles #32.7M to Families of  44 Dead officers in Lokoja.
* Advises  for prudent Mgt of fund.
 The Commissioner of Police Kogi State Police Command, CP Akeem A. Yusuf psc(+), fdc, presented cheques worth N32,767,784.86k on behalf of Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun phd, NPM, to the families of 44 Police Officers who, died in active service
The Commissioner made the disclosure in a press release and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday.
The gesture was part of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme aimed at improving the welfare of the families of deceased Police Officers and to support Police Officers who became accident victim(s) while carrying out their duty.
The public relations officer of the command, SP William Aya added that gesture is also to stimulate other Officers in active service to be diligent and committed to duty.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration; DCP Ajewole Joshua Adedayo fsi who represented the Commissioner of Police during the presentation of Cheques to the affected Police officers and next of kins of the deceased Officers stated that the Police recognizes the impact of the deceased Officers and the Force will always support the Family.
He  enjoined Police Officers who are accident victims to keep up their good work.
 The DCP urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but make judicious use of the money for the betterment of their families as he wished them safe journey back to their various destinations.
The beneficiaries, appreciates the IGP for the gesture and promise to make use of the money for the benefit of their families.
