Ododo’s Governorship Aspiration Best For Kogi State – Hon. Jones
The Governorship aspiration of Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has been described as the best for the people of Kogi State at this time.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Education Science and Technology Hon Wemi Jones made the disclosure at the official inauguration of the Ododo Campus Ambassadors and the Official Flag of Ododo School to School Grassroots Sensitization held at the Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja today.
Hon. Jones described the passionate disposition of Alhaji Ododo to Education in the State as what stands him out to continue from where Gov. Yahaya Bello would be handing over in 2024.
The Commissioner praised Alhaji Ododo as one single individual who has supported education in the State through the Schools Adoption and Mentorship Program of the Ministry of Education, urged the people to imagine what will happen to the education sector when he becomes the State Governor.
Hon. Jones described education as the bedrock for Sustainable development, said no matter how rich an individual is, would mismanaged success if not educated.
The Commissioner described the Ododo school to school program as the creation of education taskforce in Central put together to ensure quality teaching, learning and infrastructure in all schools.
He said the program is
partnering with the Education Ministry, urged the Ododo Ambassadors to take it upon themselves to go round communities across the State to educate people in community’s on the need to support Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo in the November governorship election in the State.
The Commissioner charged the Ambassadors who are less than 150 in numbers to ensure that they go round their Communities in convincing people on why it should be Ododo and the APC.
Hon. Jones desclosed that the November Governorship Election would not be about politics of violence but of issues, reason why the outstanding achievements of Alhaji Ododo should be the weapon for campaign, described Ododo as best fit for Kogi in this time.
The Ministry of Education Hon. Jones explained came up with school adoption and mentorship program, with Alhaji Ododo as the greatest supporter, said he printed Physics and chemistry textbooks books worth millions of Naira and distributed to all secondary schools in the State.
Hon. Jones described the achievements of Gov. Bello in the education sector as unprecedented, pointing out that under his administration, all tertiary institutions have their programs accredited.
He praised Gov. Bello for the accreditation of all courses in the State Polytechnic by the NBTE, making the certificate to be recognized.
The Commissioner who was upbeat that no State tertiary institution in the State has witnessed strike action in the last seven years, with the needed Infrastructure, assured that Alhaji Ododo has all it takes to consolidate on the achievements.
The Commissioner further described Gov. Bello as the only Governor in Nigeria to have established two brand new university’s under his tenure, reason why the experience of Alhaji Ododo would be most helpful in moving forward the education sector after Gov. Bello, assuring that he will continue from where Gov. Bello will stop and even make the education sector better.
