Warns against indiscipline, lateness
Kogi state Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday A. Anyebe assured Management and staff of the Ministry that it will receive necessary attention under the present government of Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Hon. Monday Anyebe stated this shortly after taking over affairs of the Ministry in Lokoja.
In a press release signed by James Sani, information officer of the ministry and made available to journalists in Lokoja reiterated the commitment of the administration to making sports a key priority of the government.
He said the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has total passion for sports and Youth development in the state hence efforts will be intensified to attain set objectives.
Hon. Monday Anyebe explained that his coming to the Ministry was a mandate of the Governor to get things done in the right direction towards the progress and development of the Ministry and the state in general.
According to him, as a Youth Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo would ensure the state witness tremendous achievement especially on Youth Development, saying everything humanly possible would be put in place to achieve lofty target.
The Commissioner noted that the Governor has put in place adequate measures to address all the challenges confronting the Ministry to ensure total development of the ministry.
Hon. Monday .Anyebe while addressing management and staff of the Ministry, advised them to take their work seriously for the good of the Ministry and the state at large.
The Commissioner also warned that his leadership would not welcome lateness, absenteeism and rumour, saying everyone should face he or her business while in office to ensure smooth working relationship.
He promised to run an open door leadership that will bring accelerated progress and development to the ministry and advised against what he described as “pull him down syndrome.
Shortly after taking over the mantle of leadership of the Ministry, the commissioner later paid an on the spot assessment visit to the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja where he assured that the present administration under Governor Usman Ododo will make the stadium the best for sporting activities, both in Nigeria and beyond.
The Commissioner also expressed appreciation to the Governor for appointing him into his cabinet and promised to deliver in line with the mandate.
Speaking on behalf of the staff and management, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Baje Janet Mojisola welcomed the new Commissioner to the Ministry and assured him of maximum co-operation.
