Kogi state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe says the present administration under Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will encourage Youth Programmes.
Hon. Monday Anyebe stated this during a familasation visit to the State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lokoja.
He said under Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Corps members in the state will be given necessary attention in view of their roles in ensuring unity and national integration.
The Commissioner assured of his readiness to work with NYSC staff and Corps members towards effective delivery of the scheme in Kogi state.
Hon. Monday Anyebe called on the NYSC management and staff to collaborate with the ministry of Youth and Sports Development, see it as a big family for the growth and development of the state.
The Commissioner thanked the state Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Pastor Mrs M.A Williams for her dedication to duty.
Speaking earlier, the Kogi state Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Pastor Mrs Willliams appealed to the government to come to their aid by fencing the NYSC permanent orientation site at Asaya towards securing the Corps members during their orientation camp.
She described the visit as first of its kind and called on him not to relent in his efforts towards Youth development in the state.
Also speaking, the Assistant Director, Corps Discipline and Reward, Pastor Kingsley Mhusah said the visit of the Commissioner to the NYSC office gave a renewed hope for the scheme and youths in the state and prayed for God wisdom for the New Commissioner.
