Members of the Kogi state Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kogi have commenced prayer sessions for divine guidance, Protection and preservation for Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as he pilots the affairs of the state.
This is as it prayed for good health , divine defence, prosperity for the former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, in his future endeavours
The interfaith prayer session was held on Saturday in the conference hall of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lokoja, capital of kogi state.
Leading the Christian’s inter denominational prayers, Friday Idachaba, immediate past chairman of the chapel called on the Almighty God to imbue wisdom, strength and protection to Governor Ododo as he provides needed direction to the state through pragmatic policies and programmes that will uplift the state into property.
He added that, the holy books enjoined the people to pray fervently for their leaders in order not to be carried away by the euphoria of office but to lead the people with the fear of God.
He called for intense and faith laden prayers for him to be able to overcome the evil machinations by the enemies of the state who may want to cage the state in perpetual underdevelopment.
In the same breath, Mohammed Bashir of Daily Telegraph, while leading the Islamic version of the session, pray to God to continue to guide and direct Governor Ododo, in his quest to provide needed leadership for the state.
He prayed for the people to remain United and to support the government at all times so that he can deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
In a remark , the chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel, Segun Salami of the Channels. Television, noted that praying
for leaders in Authority is a divine injunction, hence, members are rendering their voices to God to enable him to lead the people through the path of justice and with the fear of God for the good of the state .
The 30 minutes prayer session was well attended by members of the Correspondents’ Chapel.
