“The CPC distance themselves from online publication
The Association of Resident Doctors ARD, Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, has dissociated itself from some online publications calling for the impeachment of the Chairman of Nigeria Medical Association, NMA Kogi state , Dr. Olusola Baoku and his Executive members for alleged gross misconduct.
This is just as the Committee of former Chairmen (CFC ) of NMA, has equally feigned ignorance of the purported publications allegedly authored by Dr. David Aimila, a highly respected Chairman of CPC in the State.
Dr. Baoku is a holder of (iion) integrity icon of Nigeria by CESVO and have won many awards of recognition and several recommendations during his service.
Speaking to our Correspondent on Friday, the President of the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, Dr. Jimoh Umar, speaking in his capacity as the President, ARDFTHL gave clean bill of performance to the Dr. Olusola Baoku’s led Executives who said, it was important to put the whole thing in perspective that the ARD in FTHL has unequivocally dissociated herself from the media publications flying all over the media space allegedly calling for the impeachment of the current chairman and his Executive Members.
He said, the Chairman and his Executive members have been working round the clock to ensure that working conditions and welfare of Doctors in the state are highly maintained.
He added that in the light of his superlative performances since he assumed office, the ARD FTH Lokoja, has to pass vote of confidence on him , and his Executive members of the Union.
The President of ARD, noted that the said allegations levelled against the chairman are untrue, unfounded and a fabrication by detractors to smear the image and integrity of the Chairman and all we know is that the State Officers Council SOC have been trying their best to better the welfare of members.
According to him. “The NMA is working hard to better the lives of members. We are not aware of the financial misconduct on the part of the leadership who are working hard to upscale the working conditions of doctors in the state. We are strongly standing behind him and to support him. There are many things flying around in the media space and we don’t have anything to do with them”.
“The last time we held a meeting, we were able to harmonise the differences between committee of former Chairmen, Management and the NMA. We are working to resolve the impasse. We don’t believe that the document flying around emanated from them, because CPC, is working to resolve the whole issues.
In the same vein, the Secretary of Committee of former Chairmen, of NMA, Dr. Kabir Zubair disclosed that there was no time that the Association met and approved such position and if somebody approved such, he does so, on his own volition.
The CPC as body, is working hard to resolve whatever the differences are , and could not afford to ignite more Crisis through media prosecution.
” There was no time in our meeting that a position was taken to go to the press to Indict chairman and his Excos of wrong doing. To the best of our knowledge, we have no hands in the said publications.” He clarified.
