As the protesters prepared to embark on #Badgovernanceprotest# tomorrow , the Senior Special Assistant SSA to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Public Safety, Hon. Daniel Yusuf Achogba, has assured the stat that the people have no grouse with the state government that would warrant participating in a protest of any guise.
The SSA gave the assurance on Wednesday while fielding questions from Journalists in Lokoja over the anticipated protest.
Hon. Yusuf Achogba said, since the Governor assumed office on 27th January, 2024, he has meticulously met the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state.
He added that the state which was hitherto polarised and divided along ethnic lines has been united and unified as one indivisible family.
He added that the governor has equally successfully extinguished the hydra headed monster of thugs and thuggery activities, and fought head on crimes and criminality especially armed robbery and kidnapping, even as an isolated Custech attack was met with fire power that led to coordinated rescue of the students.
He of utmost importance to the people is the prompt payment of Salaries to state Workers , and cancellation of percentage payments to the local Government pensioners.
” Governor Ododo has demonstrated high value for governance. He has ruled with fear of God and carries the statecraft with empathy. He has technically taken governance to the people, whom he called his employers. The few months he has spent on the saddle has been tales of hope and restoration of confidence of the people in government.
He has prioritised agriculture, making it the mainstay of the people, and very soon, the huge investments injected into the sector would begin to yield bumper harvest and in short while there would be no hunger in the state.
According to him” I called on the youths to exercise restraints. Their today is guaranteed in this government of Gov’Ododo and president Tinubu . They are aware of the pains and they are working hard to address it both in the short and long run. I assure you that in a while, these policies and policies would start to manifest. So , youths in kogi state have nothing to hold against the government. Just , yesterday , he disbursed over #100,000 to women in poultry value chain and other incentives to the young persons, such as bursary award to students in Tertiary institutions even as he made public primary and Secondary schools tuition free in the state.
* For the sake of the future of our youth, I called on the NURTW , NARTO, and other transportation Unions to be discreet in handling passengers from tomorrow. I equally solicit the indulgence of our security personnel to exercise utmost professionalism in their assignments , in case there would be isolated protest.
Meanwhile, I assure our people that Governor Ododo is at his best to offer the best services to the state and I called on the people to reciprocate his gesture by staying off the protest.
