…as Education Commissioner, Wemi Jones visits Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has re-assured of his strong commitments towards vast youth empowerment through investment in technical education and skill acquisition noting that such venture remained a panacea for reducing unemployment, youth restiveness and crimes to the barest.
The Governor gave this assurance through his Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones who on Friday paid a courtesy visit of the institution to have an on the spot assessment of facilities, meet with the management and gave the governor’s assurances.
He affirmed that as promised by the governor during his inaugural speech, youth empowerment remains a vocal point in the administration’s agenda as a form of consolidation, hence the government would employ every means possible to actualise this goal, which include ensuring access to vocational learning and vast skills.
Receiving the Commissioner, the Rector, NKFI, Williams Charles Oluwatoyin appreciated the state governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo for the continued efforts to ensure that the institution fulfils its mandate, adding that the institution was always available to play a very active part in the government’s actualisation of its desires
He thanked the commissioner for his unrelenting support for the institution as well as understanding and always giving NKFI the needed attention stressing that the state government through several stakeholders in the government who have played very active roles in ensuring the success stories of the institution.
