Kogi state University Kabba (KSU) sets to admit 1750 students.,marks successful first session.

The Management of Kogi state University Kabba has assured admission seekers who chose the institution as first choice and have  met the cut off marks would be admitted as it has upscaled admission quota to 1,750 for the 2024 / 2025 academic year.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. KIT Eniola gave the assurance over the weekend in a Press Conference held in the campus in Kabba for the successful completion of the maiden academic session of the establishment of the University in 2023.
The VC who noted that in the first year of its existence, the University has carved a niche for itself by being over subscribed by students who chose KSU as their University of first choice.
Eniola noted that the vision and missions of the institution is to train global leaders, hence, has to peg minimum cut off marks to 170 percent.
He assured that  the management is working hard to ensure those who meet the requirements would be admitted even if not their preferred choice of study.
 Prof. Eniola added that those  who could not get admission have  no cause for alarm as the university is in synergy with  Ahmadu Bello University Zaria , College of Agriculture Kabba run Interim Joint Matriculation Board IJMB , saying that  on completion of the programme would be the priority of the University for  admission into  direct entry .
While thanking God for the successful completion of the first academic session and ready to commence the second year of the establishment of the university, said , the vision of the former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has started yielding results with hitch free academic year.
He said despite challenges but  with the moral and physical support of the former Governor and incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the University has steadily becomes toast of parents and  students for admission as over 3000 applied through JAMB for the next session.
While applauding Governor Ododo for timely constitution of the Governing Council, which has aided the growth and development of the University
He added that the university which was practically a virgin land at  establishment , has adorn a new looks with gigantic infrastructures dotting length and breadth of campus which enabled seamless teachings and learnings.
Prof. Eniola informed that he had successfully presented papers as Guest speaker, at the famous University of Ibadan, University of Science and Technology Okitipupa, Ondo state and Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji in Osun state.
He acknowledged the contributions  of Okun Development Association, North America for the donation of 400 chairs, Kabba Development Union KDU for their support during matriculation while PA Samuel’ s books, Stationeries , Pastor Arowosafe and his brother’s ICT digital center, Security Trust fund’s five motorcycles and transport subsidy by Transport Unions  has had immense impact  on the University.
The Erudite scholar disclosed that for the security of lives and property of students and staff, a local security outfit  was constituted to man nooks and crannies of the college.
According to him, as part of University tradition, the students of Theater Arts, Mass communications and Business Administration Departments made their presentations with huge success even as sponsored lecturers to conferences returned with great impact.
