Omala LG APC Flags Off Campaign

In the build up to the Kogi State local government election slated for 19th October, 2024, the All Progressives Congress, APC in Omala Local Government has officially kick-started its call for support and vote ahead of the election.
In an event held inside the main bowl of the LGEA central primary school Abejuko, headquarters of Omala LGA on Saturday witnessed massive turnout of dignitaries, supporters and defectors to the APC, the flag bearer of the party, Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark used the ocassion to pinpoint his vision as he prepares for the task ahead.
He said, “my aspiration to lead is poised by the urgent need to fix the economy of our dear local government and make life meaningful”.
“I’m not unaware of the security challenges that pervade certain axis of our dear area. I’m resolute to further tackle the issue head on, because I was there before and our efforts paved way for the relative peace currently experienced among several other crises we have resolved and prevented from escalating. We are not there yet, but with my experience and determination, the once disturbed Udaba-Omala will soon be a peace haven, where the popular Bagana
market will have its life back, where economic activities will blossom and the entire people of Omala will sleep with their two eyes closed. We shall be conscious of the primary purpose of government, which is the security of lives and properties”.
“As an agrarian community, we will key into the already robust agricultural programme of the state government to boost food sufficiency, grant credit facilities to our farmers via organized farming groups and well structured cluster farming”.
“Our doors shall be opened to sincere investors to bring in their expertise, establish their businesses, engage our youth population in direct and indirect employment to curb youth restiveness and other social vices”.
Education will be among our top priorities. We hope to create a friendly teaching and learning environment. We will collaborate with gifted brains from the area to uplift the standard of education.
“Our health and environmental programme will capture areas that will reduce child mortality and enhance healthy living.
“My six months in the office as former Caretaker Committee Chairman saw a facelift of the local government secretariat, provision of street solar lights, influencing renovation of the local government guest house among others. With what we have been able to do in that regard, more of these to follow through as the resources of our local government improves after we are elected by the grace of GOD.
Workers/staff welfare will be on the top burner of our administration. Salaries will be paid as and when due. Incentives will be put in place to encourage productivity.
Women and youth empowerment shall also be considered in high perspective. These and many more we shall be considering and quickly hit the ground running if elected.
Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark concluded his speech by thanking party stakeholders and supporters for standing by him and his vice-Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Adijetu Alhassan, assuring the people of the area that their trust in them will be upheld and their safety and welfare will not be taken for granted if voted into power come 19th October, 2024.
The Chairmanship candidate avowed that, APC remains a party to beat. He thanked His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for his outstanding leadership and firm control of the party, saying it will grant ease of governance at the grassroot.
The Director General of the campaign council who doubles as Member representing Omala constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Yahaya (Connect) described the candidature of Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark (Mark Noble) and Hon. Adijetu Alhassan as divine. He maintained that the personality of Mark Noble will make the coming election seamless and easy to win. He called on the various wards to give massive support to the chairmanship/vice chairmanship candidates of the party and all Councillorship candidates of APC to record overwhelming victory.
Various speakers and support groups present added their voice during the campaign flag off and all called for the total support for the party’s candidates across board.
Highlight of the occasion include fanfares, inauguration of the campaign council and presentation of flags to Councillorship candidates by the local government party Chairman, Hon. Ali Shehu Ogijo.
The inaugurated Campaign Council has the Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark as overall Chairman, Hon. Umar Yahaya (Connect) as Director General and the Caretaker Transition Secretary, Hon. Simeon Omale is the Secretary of the Campaign Council among other campaign council heads and sub-committees.
