The Executive Chairman of Omala LGA, Hon. Edibo Peter Ameh Mark, constitutes a committee on Solid Mineral and Mining Matters.

The Committee is responsible for;
*developing and implementing policies that promote sustainable development of solid minerals and mining in Omala LGA,
*ensuring that all mining operations in the area comply with relevant laws and regulations.
*overseeing environmental impact of mining activities and ensuring that measures are in place to mitigate any negative effects,
*facilitating engagement between mining companies, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure that benefits are shared equitably and that community concerns are addressed.
*attracting investments and fostering partnerships with mining companies, government agencies, and other stakeholders to drive growth of solid minerals and mining sector in Omala LGA,
*conducting research and gathering data on the solid minerals and mining sector in Omala LGA to inform policy decisions and drive development,
*ensuring that revenues generated from mining activities are managed transparently and efficiently, and that they benefit the local community.
