The Kogi East Forum of Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) on Sunday has urged Governor Usman Ododo to sustain his strategic development to enable the state unleash its full potentials.
This is just as hon.Lazarus Akubo, SSA to Ododo on Public Communication, Kogi East, expressed gratitude to God over the cordial relationship between the forum and the governor.
Akubo pledged the readiness of the forum to work with the governor to attract more infrastructural developments to the Kogi east in his (Ododo’s) second year.
Meanwhile, the forum congratulated him on [his successful completion of one year of impactful and people centric governance of the state.
Dr Aminu Atabo, Chairman of the forum, made the commendation during a news conference held at Niami Hotel, Lokoja.Recall that Gov Ododo would be one year in office on Monday , January 27, 2025 having succeeded former governor Yahaya Bello on Jan. 27, 2024 as governor of Kogi, under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).Atabo, who described Gov. Ododo as God sent to the people of Kogi, noted that on assumption, crimes and criminal elements have been reduced to a bearest minimum.According to him “Ododo took up the issue of securing the lives and properties of Kogi residents and travelers from other parts of this country plying through our State, who were facing kidnapping incidents every day, with seriousness..“With the tenacity, dedication, commitment of a civilian governor, who acts and deal with criminal elements like a military man, these criminal elements have been largely neutralised.“Through his formation of Vigilantes, military bases at crises ridden areas, and appointing Zonal Security Advisers, kogi residents can now sleep with their two eyes closed“Aside security, the massive infrastructural developments going on at our various institutions of learning, reconstruction and rehabilitation of our Primary Health Care (PHC) Centers across the 21 LGAs of the state, roads maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction amongst others are laudable, ” he said.The Chairman said that some of the governor’s achievements included payments of counterpart funding of critical developmental partnerships with multilateral organizations with vigor and precision.He added: “This amiable governor has been able to bring the citizens of Kogi state together, thereby forging peaceful coexistence amongst the three (3) major tribes in Kogi State.“Ododo has spread and spreading projects and appointments equitably amongst these entities that make up Kogji state.”Atabo also noted that Gov Ododo had continued with his magic of prompt payments of salaries and never deviated since assuming the mantle of leadership on Jan. 27, 2024.According to him, that singular step has made the economic and social life and status of civil servants and appointees increased tremendously.He gave other, areas of major successes of Ododo’s administration as “the encouragement of the education of our youths through payments of WAEC Fees, bursariesand scholarships and in the area of free education at the Primary and Secondary education levels in the State.”“The Forum of Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) from the Eastern flanks of Kogi State, hereby with pride and sense of patriotism hereby associates ourselves with these laudable achievements of His Excellency, the servant-leader, Gov Ododo“We hereby declare our total support and endorsement and solidarity for his developmental plans, programmes, projects and all governmental activities. It’s therefore our solemn pledge to continue to enlighten and educate our people both at home and in the diaspora, the wonderful interventions the Governor is entrenching in their lives.”
