CP , AIG visits AtaIgala, to strengthen community policing.

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, paid a courtesy visit to the Atah Igala, His Royal Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa, at his palace in Idah, reinforcing security collaboration between the Police and traditional institutions.
CP Dantawaye was accompanied by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 8 Headquarters, AIG Abubakar Zubairu, psc (+) whom he described as an elder brother and mentor.
The visit aimed to seek royal blessings and further solidify the existing synergy between the Police and the Traditional Leadership in ensuring a safer Kogi State.
In his address, the Atah Igala, welcomed CP Dantawaye and the AIG, pledging the full support of the Igala Kingdom in providing intelligence and cooperation to aid security operations. He commended the Commissioner for his bravery and dedication, assuring him of his total support for effective Policing in the State.
Following the visit to the Atah Igala’s Palace, the Commissioner of Police and the AIG proceeded to the Area Command in Idah, where they were received by the Area Commander along with Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) from Idah, Ofu, Ajaka, Odolu, Akpanya and Ibaji. The event saw the presence of Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Chiefs, the Vigilante Group, hunters, and members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).
During the meeting, the security stakeholders in Idah reiterated their commitment to ensuring genuine security in the region. They urged the Commissioner of Police to enhance collaboration between law Enforcement Agencies and Local Security outfits in the fight against crime.
CP Dantawaye assured the people of Idah and Kogi State at large that the Police would continue to work closely with communities to maintain law and order. He emphasized the importance of intelligence-sharing and cooperation, promising that the command would take decisive actions to curb criminal activities across the state.
This visit marks a significant step in strengthening security in Kogi State through a blend of traditional leadership and law enforcement partnerships.
