In recognition of the need to trigger a process of building a new and sustainable Nigeria that will work for all,
Team New Nigeria (TNN) is planning to convene, discuss and chart a new and reliable direction for a New Nigeria.
The conference will table Nigeria’s well-known problems, proffer workable solutions and propose items that can be pursued, leading to a New Nigeria where equity, peace and sustainable progress will prevail. For this purpose, we have constituted a Local Organising Committee for each of the 36 States and the FCT to coordinate and facilitate the participation of States and Local Government Areas at the National Conference.
The Terms of Reference (TOR) of the State Local Organising Committee is as follows:
1. Determine number of participants, which shall include State Chairman, the three Senatorial Zonal Chairmen, a maximum of seven (7) principal officers at the state level, Local Government Chairmen including the Local Government Secretaries, Women Leaders, Youths Leaders and Publicity Secretaries.
2. Plan and facilitate the meetings of the Local Organising Committee.
3. Develop the plan of work for the SLOC.
4. Develop, implement and monitor a work plan for all responsibilities covered by the SLOC.
5. On behalf of the State, prepare and manage the budget for the conference, which will include ensuring that resources are appropriated and efficiently utilised.
6. Review and approve the planning and reporting tool submitted by each Sub-Committee of the State Local Organising Committee.
7. Conduct meetings with Sub-Committees to, among other things, discuss proposed plans and implementation strategies.
8. Coordinate and monitor the work of all Sub-Committees for the Conference.
9. Provide information, advice and guidance to the National Working Committee and other Committees associated with the hosting of the National Conference.
10. Carry out all other duties, not otherwise assigned to any Sub-Committee, related to the organisation and execution of the Conference.
11. The SLOC may co-opt such members as it deems necessary.
12. The State Local Organising Committee will report to the National Conference Planning Committee on its activities.
