As the race for the 2027 general election gathers momentum, the Liberal Progressive and Patriotic members Congress LPPMC has thrown it’s weight behind a credible Coalition of political Parties that will unseat the APC in the the general elections.
The National coordinator of the Pointman Project Media, Luka Ikechukwu made the disclosure in a statement on Tuesday in Lokoja.
The coordinator noted that the erstwhile Labour party patriotic members congress was in the forefront in mobilizing organic supporters for presidential candidate of Labour party, Peter Obi which has been transmuted into Liberal Progressive and patriotic members congress and is working assiduously to ensure credible political Parties form a coalition to ensure that the ruling APC would not be returned to office.
He called on well meaning Nigerians devoid of party affiliation, religion and ethnic bias, to unite against the APC and it’s administration that foisted harsh social and economic agenda on the people.
He said the LPPMC under the leadership of Dr. Kingsley Okundaye and the entire leaders are committed to success of the coalition to oust the ruling APC in 2027 elections
He disclosed the readiness of the Congress to deploy her structures across the 6 Geopolitical Zones, across the 36 States and the FCT and the 774 LGAs in support of the Coalition, and in pursuit of the ideals of responsible and responsive governance.
“LPPMC shall deploy our organic followership and material resources in the defense of democracy, and we shall work with like-minded patriots and Progressives to ensure that democracy works for the masses of our Country
“The LPPMC shall deploy both human and material resources in support of any ideological coalition channeled at taking power through the ballot and making leadership answerable to the People. “The Congress whilst supporting the Coalition shall continue to insist that our quest for power come 2027 must be people oriented.
“The broad-based coalition that we support must be people centred and policy driven. It must be entirely different from the present order where leaders have refused to be accountable and responsible to the people. We shall mobilize our structures in support of the effort of genuine progressives to redeem and rescue the nation.
“The call for a country where leadership is people driven, where democracy works for the greater good, and where the people are alive to the challenge of making those who wield political powers are answerable to them is the unalterable commitment of LPPMC and we shall stop at nothing in advancing this cause as we work with the Coalition in defense of democracy and in pursuit of a new Dawn for our people come 2027”
Ikechukwu explained that the group will continue to ensure that those in position of authority are made to embrace and internalize the progressive ideals that stand LPPMC out as a credible vehicle for nation building, and a beacon of hope for a nation in dire need of redemption
