Against the orchestrated scheming of host community, the Lokoja Youth Association (LYA) has called for the immediate redeployment of the General Manager, Administration, of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Dabai.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Buhari Lakwaja, and made available to newsmen, the group expressed concern over what it described as the continued marginalisation of Lokoja indigenes in employment opportunities within the agency.
According to the statement, Alhaji Dabai, since assuming office as GM Administration, has allegedly overseen recruitment processes in which Lokoja indigenes have been consistently sidelined.
“Mr. Dabai, as GM Admin, has since he assumed office contributed to the repeated exclusion of Lokoja indigenes from NIWA, especially in matters relating to employment,” the statement read.
The Association stressed that NIWA, being headquartered in Lokoja, must reflect fairness, equity, and inclusion in its operations, especially in recruitment and administrative decisions.
Consequently, the Lokoja Youth Association is calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene by redeploying Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Dabai, in order to restore balance, transparency, and justice in the agency’s administrative structure.
