COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT MEETING OF THE NORTH CENTRAL ZONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) HELD ON THE 28TH November, 2025 AT ABUJA.
The North Central Zonal Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party after its duly convened meeting held on the 28th November, 2025 at Abuja deliberated extensively on matters affecting the unity, discipline, and over all integrity of the party vis a-vis the illegal resolution of a non-existent and illegal National Working Committee (NWC).
Following a comprehensive review of the resolution of a self-acclaim National Working Committee unknown to law appointing
an acting zonal Chairman in the person of Hon Francis Orugu the North Central Zonal Secretary, the committee received and considered report from relevant internal organs of the party regarding acts deemed to be gross misconduct and multiple violations of the party constitution and established guidelines.
After exhaustive deliberation and in accordance with the powers vested in the Zonal Executive Committee by virtue of section 27(2),46,57(3),58 and 59 of the Peoples Democratic Party Constitution 2017 (As Amended), the following resolutions. were unanimously adopted;
RESOLUTIONS
That the Zonal Executive Committee pass a vote of confidence on the Acting National Chairman, Abdulrahaman Muhammed and affirm for their unalloyed support and recognition as the Acting National Chairman.
That the office of the Zonal Chairman of the North Central is not vacant by virtue of section 47(1) of the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party 2017 (As Amended), as he was duly elected in May 2025.
That the National Working Committee has no powers what
so ever to alter, change, remove, discipline, appoint any officer or superintend the activities of the Zone having regard to section 31, (2) (c) of the constitution of the peoples Democratic party 2017 (As Amended)
That the purported resolution appointing a new zonal chairman in person of Francis Orogu by unlawful National Working Committee unknown to extant law is null void and of no effect and same is tantamount to Cyber-stalking.
That Hon Francis Orogu, Zonal Secretary is hereby expelled from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, having been found liable for;
Acts of gross misconduct detrimental to the peace, order, and organizational stability of the party within the zone;
Sundry constitutional breaches including actions incompatible with the responsibilities and oath of office of a member of the Zonal Executive Committee.
Conducts that undermine the cohesion discipline and public image of the party.
(6)That the committee unanimously nominated Hon Francis OdeIgbe, the Zonal Exofficio from Benue to Act as the Zonal Secretary.
(7)That this decision is binding subject to ratification by the appropriate higher organs of the party in line with the PDP Constitution.
(8)That the stakeholders, members and supporters of the party within the Zone are enjoined to remain calm, united and focused on the collective objective of strengthening the PDP, promoting internal democracy and enhancing organizational discipline.
The Zonal Executive Committee
reaffirms its commitment to upholding the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party and ensuring that no individual regardless of office or influence is above the rules governing our great party.
