The member representing Omala Local Government Area in the kogi state House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Farooq Yahaya (Connect) has pledged to deliver hundred percent Omala votes to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for their reelection in 2027 general elections.
This is just as he assured Gov. Ododo not to bother himself to be physically present for campaigns in Omala Local Government Area as the deal for his reelection had being stamped and sealed by the people.
Hon. Umar Farooq made the disclosure at the Ife Development Association IDA, Lokoja branch, at the end of the year celebration held on Sunday in Lokoja, kogi state capital.
The Lawmaker noted that the people of Omala made the pledge to deliver 100% of their votes to Governor Ododo as a reprocity for his unwavering commitment to security, wellbeing and development of the LGA.
He disclosed that when Gov Ododo assumed office , he confronted frontally the internecine insecurity in Omala , as he physically visited Bagana , the epicenter of the crisis and Agojeju- Odo and swiftly built Forward Operation Base FOB with deployment of troops that has significantly tamed insecurity across Omala LGAs.
He further stated that the governor swiftly implemented the recommendations of the AtaIgala, HRM Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa committee on the Bagana crisis with outstanding restoration of peace and order in the area.
Farooq added that, Ododo in his magnanimity for the Omala people had commenced in earnest the reconstruction of Abejukolo township roads which is already in advance stage of completion, adding that electricity supply and pipe borne water supply with assurances that meaningful development will soon hit nooks and crannies of the LGAs.
He said, in the history of Omala, Gov. Ododo stands tallest in his passion for issues that concern the welfare and wellbeing of the people of Omala
While appreciating him for what he has been doing for his constituency, revealed that the Governor has graciously donated a brand new Bus for the Association, to ease transportation challenges.
The Lawmaker who was the Chairman of the Occasion noted that he has vowed not to disappoint the people for their love and commitment to his political careers.
He disclosed that in the history of Omala Local Government elections, had the people the people spoke with one voice like his as the people , irrespective of parties, Creed, young and old , men and women voted overwhelmingly for him, winning all the 11 wards and 146 out of 147 polling Units, the feat that he vowed not to take for granted.
He promised to commence the drilling of one Borehole in each of the 11 wards which will start immediately he commissioned his Mother and Child state of the art clinic in Ogodu and a police state at Ibado Akpacha.
He charged the leadership of the IDA to foster unity, love and peace among sons and daughters of the LGA , warning against tendencies that will polarize and undermine the development of the land
Earlier, the Senior Pastor of Knowledge of the Truth Joshua Omada Ministries,who is an indigene of the area, prayed for unity and progress of the people.
The man of God noted that leadership is a call to crisis Management by pooling individual’s strength and aggregate it for the overall development of the people.
He said , for God to bless, there must be order, sensitivity and vigilance as not all in a group would be at peace with the development of the Association.
He charged leaders to take hard decisions and remain focused, beware of betrayals and be ready to do away with those clogging on the wheel of development.
Similarly, the founder of Kunfayakun prayer House, Sheik Mukaila Hassan admonished the people to embrace peace and brotherliness saying without it there wouldn’t be meaningful development.
He charged the people to trust God irrespective of their creeds adding that in all the scriptures nowhere that people were encouraged to kill and destroy properties of their fellow human beings,and advised them to ensure religious tolerance.
In a remark, the Chairman of IDA, Lokoja branch, Comrade Abubakar called for character belief, truth in all dealings and to speak with one voice to achieve good things for the land .
He urged them to exchew bitterness, put aside ugly past in order to move the Association forward, while praising the people for their commitment to the growth and development of the Omala Local Government Area.
