Insecurity; Bagana to get Naval Base, as Aboh Hosts Navy Commanding officer.

Executive Chairman of Omala Local Government Council, Hon. Chief (Alh) Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh has appealed to the Nigerian Navy to establish a post in Bagana, Omala Local Government Area.

He made the appeal when he received the Commanding Officer (CO), Naval Out Post, Idah Naval Base, Navy Capt. BA Amakiri in his office at Abejukolo.

Chief Aboh said, “security of lives and properties is in the front burner of Governor Yahaya Bello adminstration’s policies and programmes. It is in this light I, on behalf of the good people of Omala Local Government reiterate my appeal for the setting up of Naval Post at Bagana, a request I have consistently tabled”.

“To a great extent the presence of the force will boost security on the waterways. Men of the underworld seize opportunity of the river to carry out their nefarious activities. I’m very optimistic and hopeful that this request will be duly considered for the interest of my people”.

In his reaction, Navy Capt. BA Amakiri appreciated the Chief Executive for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.

He stressed that, “you have shown how passionate you are in giving your people the best. I’ve received testimonies of how you have vehemently strive to maintain peace and security in the area. This is practically in line with security gains recorded by Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello”.

“I’ve seen the terrain for myself and will revert back to higher authority of the force to push for actualisation of this lofty feat. The Nigeria Navy, like we have been doing will work in synergy with other sister security agencies, share intelligence for a common goal of bringing about peace and security. In turn we seek collaboration of your good office, the traditional Institution and others. We operate Civil Military Corporation (CIMIC), by this we corperate with law abiding citizens, and deal with those who engage in lawlessness in the language they understand”.

Before proceeding to Bagana, the Executive Chairman led the Commanding Officer and his entourage to the palace of Onu-Ife, HRH Chief Boniface U. Musa (Ojogba) where the royal father reechoed the aspiration of Chief Aboh. The same was for Bagana community, who spoke through their District Head.

Members of the community thanked the Chairman for his untiring efforts at ensuring peace, unity and progress and prayed GOD to increase him in wisdom and understanding to do more.
