Yahaya zakka Minna
A 35 years old Jamilu Ibrahim of Kagara town in Rafi local Government area of Niger state have been remanded in Minna correctional center by Chief magistrate court one for charges of culpable homicide contrary to section 221 of the penal code law, punishable by death.
According to Police report, one Ismaila Musa Modibo reported at Kagara Police station on the 1/9/2019,that during 2019 local Government Chairmanship election at Kagara misunderstanding ensued between his sopporters APC and the supporters of Gambo Tanko Bojoh his opponent of same polical party APC.
The police first information report reads, that the suspect Jamilu Ibrahim was injured on his right hand and abdomen and rushed to Kagara General Hospital for treatment.
The suspect while on admission at Kagara General Hospital abandoned his sick bed and ran over,where he used sharp knife and stabbed one Alhaji Ismaila Dahiru of Tunga Bako on his neck which he was rushed to the IBB Specialist Hospital Minna and died while receiving treatment.
The suspect then disappeared to unknown destination ,according to the police report, detectives then swung into action and on the 5/8/2021 the suspect was arrested and arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court One MinnĆ , however the suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges when first police information report was read to him.
The Prosecuting police officer, ASP Ahmed.A.Saidu told the court that investigation is still in progress and objected to his bail on the gravity of the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate Hon,Nasiru Mu’azu then adjourned the case to 16/09/2021.
