Niger First Lady flags off 2nd Covid 19 Vaccination in Bosso, Chanchanga .

The Wife of the Niger State Governor Dr Amina Abubakar Sani Bello has flagged off the second phase of the Covid:19 vaccination and routine immunisation for Children in Chanchaga and Bosso local government areas of the state where she emphasized the need for Nigerians to be more mindful of the evolving nature of the virus.
The wife of the Governor Dr Amina Sani Bello while flagging off the routine vaccination counseled all stakeholders to mobilize all eligible persons in their households and communities to go for vaccination and be protected,adding that the Covid-19 vaccination is free, also stressing that the Covid-19 pandemic is still spreading across the World and in our country hence the need for everyone to be vaccinated.
Dr Amina Bello reminded those that have been vaccinated for the second round that they may have to go for the third dose to serve as a booster if the pandenic pasist.
Dr Amina Bello called on the entire people in the area to continue to observe and abide by the COVID-19 prevention protocols assuring them that the state Government Will continue to conduct high impact health programs for the benefits of women and children in the state.
Dr Amina stated that during the one week exercise medical experts will carryout vitamin A supplementation for children aged 6 months to 59 months, deworming of children as well as provide ante natal care to Nursing mothers.
The first lady said children born outside hospitals were not being registered therefore urged parents to take full advantage of the birth registration with issuance of certificates being offered by the government Hospitals.
The Commissioner for Health Dr Mohammed Makusidi in his speech disclosed that the state government has begun the renovation and upgrading of the general hospitals in Minna, Suleja, Kontagora Tunga- Magajiya and Suleja towns to enable the entire people in the state have access to medications adding that the exercise will last for one week.
In her vote of thanks the Project Director, Mrs Bolanle Oyebola stated that Plan Internationale is proud to partner with Niger state Government to reduce malnutrition by providing cost effective nutrition services among Women and children in the state.
Mrs Bolanle Oyebola added that the organization will maximize the bi-annual MNCHW campaign to mobilise pregnant women ,lactating mothers ,children and adolescent girls for Mass service delivery of the community based nutrition services ranging from vitamin A,alberzale,sulfodixine pryrimethanmine and Zinc/ORS.
