The Governing council of Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba, formerly, Kogi state University, has promoted a renowned Goelogist,Dr Aurelius Ojoina Omali to the rank of Associate Professor along with others.
Dr Aurelius untill his elevation served in various capacities in the Institution from Head of Department of Geology to maiden Assistant Director,Centre for Enterpreneurial Developement of the Institution ,a pet project of one time Vice- Chancellor of the university, Professor Hassan Isah.
Associate Professor Omali joined the Institution in 2002 as a graduate assistant in the department of Geology, were he rose through the cadre as assistant lecturer, senior lecturer and now reader in the Institution.
His long standing experience both in academic and adminstrative positions earned him the recent promotion to the rank of Associate Professor.
A recipient of both local and international academic award, Dr Omali has attended both local and international conferences to his resume.
A native of Okenyi in Ankpa local government area of Kogi State, he was a graduate of Geology from the University of Jos, and proceeded to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka for his MSC Geology, and subsequently his PhD on the same field of endeavour.
Omali’s elevation took effect from 2019 as approved by the governing council of the University.
