The legal battle challenging the appointment and coronation of Abubakar Ahmed Yakubu as ejeh Ankpa has shifted to the state high court presided over by Justice A . N Awullu.
When the case came up for hearing today Wednesday may 4, 2022, it had to be adjourned to may 23rd because of a new case that was filed by the new lawyer to the defendants.
Recalled that a high Court of kogi state sitting at Anyigba had restrained the state government from proceeding with the planned coronation of Abubakar Yakubu as the Ejeh of Ankpa. Ruliustice Funsho Ajayi gave the order on march 2, 2022 while ruling on an interlocutory application filled by Musa Akor suing for himself and on behalf of members of the Oo,ogbaje, Adokpa, and Agenyi ruling houses of On u Enjema traditional clan in Enjema District of Ankpa local government. In a chat with newsmen ttshortly after the sitting, lawyer to the plaintifs, Barrister Philip Abalaka said they were in Court to challenge the application to by the defendants to vacate earlier order by Justice Funsho Ajayi of Anyigba high Court as according to him, (this Court cannot sit on apeal over the decision of his learned colleague in Anyigba). The case has been adjourned till may 23rd 2hà
