The Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency is an Agency of the Government saddled with the responsibilities, in consultation and collaboration with the Local Governments in the State, of controlling outdoor structures, branded mobile vehicles and equipment, street directional signs, brand activations, branded house numbering, branded bus shelters and street furniture.
The Agency deems it imperative to notify the general public that pursuant to Section
36(1) (2) of the Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency Law, 2022 which states that:
36. Without prejudice to any existing Law, a person shall not-
1. Paste any handbill, poster, banner, notice, sign or advertisement on side-walks, tree, bridges, abutment, public dustbin hydrant, highway or on any street without the permission of the Agency;
2. Tear down, deface or destroy any notice, handbill, sign or advertisement or poster put up or posted by or under the direction of State or any of its agencies; provided that such posters and handbills are pasted with the permit of the Agency, on designated flat surfaces approved by the Agency in conjunction with the Local Government Area.
It has become illegal for any type of publicity material to be displayed without following the proper channel of obtaining the Agencyā€™s permission or approval.
