The Vice Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba , Professor Marietu Tenuche has been commended for her resilience and dogged efforts in the running of the Institution since assumption of Office.
A Member of the Governing Council of the University, Honourable Ali Atabor gave the commendation while speaking with Journalists at Anyigba on the performance of the Vice Chancellor so far.
The Council member noted with satisfaction that Professor Marietu Tenuche has continued to demonstrate quality leadership which has placed the University in a vintage position.
According to Hon. Ali Atabor, Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba has transformed creditably both in academics, human development and infrastructure.
“The Vice Chancellor as a pioneer academic staff of the University she is quite abreast with the challenges and needs of the Institution, which she has continued to tackle headlong”.
” Her administrative acumen and judicious utilisation of resources made the Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to grant financial autonomy to the Institution at its last convocation”.
He said this was made possible through her uncommon sacrifice, accountability and transparency in governance, describing her achievements as unprecedented in the history of the Institution.
The Council member in particular commended Professor Marietu Tenuche for gaining full accreditation of courses as well as the introduction of new ones in the University.
“Besides all these achievements, the Vice Chancellor has also given priority to sports development as students don’t only excel in academic, but equally flourish in their sports of interest”.
” Under her leadership, Prince Abubakar Audu university, Anyigba football team recently emerged overall champion in the All Universities Football competition finals in Lagos”.
Hon Ali Atabor called on management, staff and students of the University to join hands with the Vice Chancellor in order to sustain the present tempo of academic and infrastructural development.
The University Governing Council member also advised members of the alumni of the Institution to shun all tendencies capable of derailing the focus of the Vice Chancellor from attaining her lofty vision for the University.
” Alumni Associations the world over are partners in the development of their various Institutions, and Prince Abubakar Audu university can not be an exception and they must also refrain from blackmail and character assassination “.
Hon Ali Atabor therefore called on members of the Alumni to quickly come to a round table with the view to addressing all issues that have divided them into factions, saying a divided house can not stand.
