* Says all relevant security agencies duly notified of the Rally.
Against the insinuations by the APC that her member was killed by the SDP members in a rally held in Kotonkarfe , the social democratic Party has disclosed that there were enough evidences, including video clips that her campaign Rally was attacked by agents working for the APC.
The Director General, New Media, Muri/ Sam campaign Council, Isaiah Davies Ijele in a Press release made available to journalists on Monday in Lokoja, said, the allegations of the APC was malicious, defamatory and baseless as all available records points at the APC as being the attacker.
He dismissed the APC pointing accusing fingers at the SDP of being responsible for the death of one of the supporters of the APC , alleging that the deceased woman would have been killed by her gangs of thugs.
He added that the deceased who was a known thug to the people of the area was actually armed with dangerous weapons , asking that what would have been her mission at the rally with the souvenirs of the candidate of APC.
According to him there was video evidence of peaceful gathering of SDP supporters before APC thugs invaded the venue with guns and machetes, destroying the podium, injuring supporters and shooting sporadically at the convoy, which to him was contrary to the position of the spokesperson of and the APC campaign council, Femi fanwo, who also doubles as the state commissioner for information and communication.
The spokesperson noted that his principal, the candidate of SDP, Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, and his teeming supporters are persons who are law abiding and respecter of democratic ethos who would not stoop too low to engage in acts detrimental to the well-being of people he intends to govern.
He added that his party has been pursuing his campaign on issues that will raise the bars of the people of the state and has repeatedly demonstrated his passion for the people with his campaign pitch anchored on the restoration of the lost glory of the state.
While challenging the APC candidate, Usman Ahmed Ododo and any one so appointed by the present administration to a live debate, said, the APC candidature has polarised the people against each other..
He decried the statement credited to the commissioner of Police that , the party has no relevant permit to hold the rally, saying both the police and relevant security agencies were duly notified.
He added that Muritala Ajaka is a man of honour and integrity and would not use inflammatory statement that will tie the people against themselves, hinting that what he said on channels TV was his description of governor Yahaya Bello as the enemy of the state , for his attempt for a third term through the APC candidate.
While commending the people of Kogi Kotonkarfe for the resilience in the face of unprovoked attacked by alleged APC thugs , assured them that their resolve for SDP candidate would be rewarded if voted into office come November 11, 2023.
While calling on the police to launch thorough investigation into the matter, urge them to be neutral in their engagement with political Parties as their allegiance is to the people of Nigeria as against an individual no matter highly placed.
