Yuletide: Omala Chairman, Edibo Ameh bans fireworks.
The Chairman of Omala Local Government Council, Hon. Edibo Mark Ameh has banned fireworks during Christmas and New Year celebration across the local Government Areas .
This was contained in a resolution reached during an emergency meeting with security heads, religious leaders and stakeholders, held today in Abejukolo.
In a statement signed by Usman Bashir ,SSA on new media and forwarded to Treasuretimes , disclosed that the decision to ban fireworks was taken to ensure public safety and prevent breakdown of law and order during the yuletides.
To this end , he said,the following restrictions will be enforced:
– No burning of tyres on streets
– No blowing up of Knockout (banger).
He urged all residents to adhere strictly to the announcement and promote harmony among the youths.
