GYB Voice Network rebukes Austin Okai over inappropriate comments on Gov. Ododo.
The GYB Voice Network 2023, has described the vitriolic attack on kogi state Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo by Austin Okai in a widely circulated video as a handiwork of a paid blackmailer in order to wittle down the rising profile of the governor and his administration .
The GYB Voice Network made the condemnation in a press conference held on Friday in Lokoja, to alert the public of the sinister motives of Austin Okai to ditch out unsubstantiated allegations of diversion of funds and skewing projects against the kogi East by Governor Usman Ododo and his Administration.
The chairman of the group, Comrade Alih Atabor, said, ordinarily, his group wouldn’t have responded to the allegations, if Okai is a man of integrity and capacity, but it was compelled to respond because, he was a man of low esteem with pull him down credentials and only known for pecuniary and political patronages.
He said , having known Austin Okai to be a failed politician who could not win his ward when he contested the last House of Representatives election, shows he has been rejected by his people and thus has no effrontery to speak for them.
Comrade Atabor, added that his transactional style of politics would continue to hurt his ambition, therefore, not qualified to speak onbehalf of the people of Kogi East Geo political zone of the state.
He described his allegations as false , ridiculous and of no substance and a deliberate attempt to distract the people’s Governor Ododo from his good works which have received applauses from the people of the state regardless of religious, ethnic and political affiliations.
He said, Governor Ododo had in 2024 approved the reconstructions of some major township roads in Kogi East including Dekina LGA where Okai hails from.
According to him the group vehemently condenmed his destructive stance capable of brewing discord between the peace loving people of Kogi East and other zones of the state.
He affirmed that the government of Gov. Ododo has been meticulous in uniting the people, creating latitude for peaceful coexistence and promotion of love , which have engendered overall best interest of the people of the state
He pointed out that, if Austin Okai so loved the people of Kogi East as he want the world to believe, he would have taken up the challenge when the zone’s mineral deposits are being plundered without corresponding benefits to the people.
” We have seen genuine commitment towards bringing the people of the state together by this administration. The GYP Voice Network 2023 Kogi East chapter condenmed the action of Austin Okai for his unnecessary criticism, which is not intended to correct, but to mislead and cause chaos in the state. For the record, the chief servant of kogi, has already commenced the upgrade of Healthcare Centres in all the nine LGAs of kogi East.
” Similarly, numerous communities linking roads projects, across kogi East have been awarded to enhance socio economic development of the zone
” The governor has equally given attention to the welfare of workers , both at the local council level and the state, since inception of office. He has ensured prompt payment of salaries. He is in the forefront in the implementation of the new minimum wage and has been prompt in the payment of pensions to retirees in the state with significant increase in the take home of pensioners arising from the implementation of minimum wage in the state
” The governor has been focusing on the educational standards, Agricultural sector, Health and Security of lives and property. All the achievements in these sectors are tangible for even cynics to see. However, we are appealing to our sons and daughters to continue in their support for the administration of governor Ahmed Usman Ododo . And we urge every one to rise up and shun those with intentions to cause disaffection an acrimony between the good people of Kogi East and our brothers and sisters from other zones.” He counselled.
Austin Okai a blogger and politician has been at daggers drawn with the past administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and has raised unmerited concern on Government of his excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
