Kogi Human Rights activists condemn suspension of senator Natasha, call for review

Forum of Human Rights Activists in kogi central has condemned the suspension of the senator representing the district at the National Assembly, senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan by the Senate.
This was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Mamman Aminu, executive secretary of the group and made available to Independent on Saturday in Lokoja .
The group described the suspension of senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan as “unwarranted and illegal, traverse of justice and abuse of power” .
The activists noted with dismay the action of the Senate leadership over the senator , stressing that it was a calculated attempt to truncate the democratic rights of the good people of kogi central at the national assembly.
The Forum of Rights activists added further that any rule and action, as postulated by the senate which is inconsistent with the provisions of the constitution is null and void , and cannot stand.
“Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan had so far provided quality representation as witnessed by the constituents which they said had never be so credible”, said comrade Aminu .
The Rights Activists therefore called upon the power that be to intervene for the suspension to be reviewed for a better settlement of the issues involved.
The rights activists urged Nigerians , particularly the women to continue to support worthy cause , especially when their rights have been violated
Meanwhile, the Forum of Right Activists appealed to president Ahmed Asiwaju Tinubu to wade into the problem and resolve it in the best interest of peace and progress of the country ,which he sworn to protect .
