Breaking : ADC suspends Reps. Leke Abejide, Dr. Omede 3 others ,over anti party activities

Kogi state working Committee SWC of the  African Democratic Congress ADC  has suspended the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency.amd former Gubernatorial candidate of the Party , Hon. Leke Abejide and his deputy Dr.  Idris Omede  and three other members of the party in Kogi.

In a Press Conference held  on Monday in Lokoja,the Secretary of ADC, John adaji Udale  noted that the SWC members took the decision after extensive deliberations over the constant and deliberate actions and activities of some members and party officials who are at variance with the party.

 The Secretary, stated that after reviewing their activities, especially in recent times, particularly as displayed in Harris Hotel Abuja, where some members  flagrantly usurped the power of the leadership of party and indulged in anti party activities, hence, SWC was  compelled to take necessary action against  the under listed  members to uphold the integrity of the  Constitution of  party.

Those suspended alongside Hon. Leke Abejide include

  Dr Idris Omede, former Deputy Governorship candidate of ADC  , Hon Johnson Tayo ,Lukman Usman Adedayo and  Olabode Kayode.

Adaji stated that in iew of their disloyalty to the party and the anti party activities as well as act of  insubordination embarked upon by them in contrary to the provisions of Constitution, the party hereby suspend them  in line with Article 6 Section 1,2,&4, Article 22 Section 1,2,6,8,9&10 and Article 32,  the oath of office schedule of the great party, ADC, as applicable.

” The above-mentioned people are suspended from today, 4th August, 2025, as unanimously agreed and endorsed by the State Working Committee (SEC) which met today Monday, 4th August, 2025 at Lokoja, Kogi State.

“Having reviewed their activities by the leadership of the party and their failure to honour the invitation extended to them in lines with the stipulated law of our party since 2023,  after the last governorship election and their perpetual breach of the party Constitution,  most especially Hon Leke Joseph Abejide and his running mate Hon  Dr Idris Omede and other state’s officials of the party mentioned above.

“This suspension takes immediate effect.

However, he said, the suspended members  are to appear before the national working committee for further fair hearing, as follow:

Time: 12 noon

Venue: ADC Global campus National Secretariat. No. 4 Oyo Street Area 2. FCT, Abuja.

Meanwhile,  the State Working Committee of the party, unanimously passed votes of confidence in the leadership of the State Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga and Secretary, John Adaji Udale.

Recall that the ADC has been enmeshed in controversy since its adoption by the coalition group.
