Prince Abubakar Audu Varsity Governing Council scores Professor Marietu Tenuche Ohunene high on Development.

The Governing Council of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, led by the Chairman of the Council, Professor Ibrahim Abdu-Aguye has passed a vote of confidence on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche for the overwhelming rate of development on the University Campus.

The unreserved commendation and full-house approbation of the Tenuche-led developmental strides was sequel to a general tour of the University facilities during the 65th Regular Meeting of the University Governing Council which was held on the 23rd of June, 2023.

The Council members lauded the balanced development of personnel and infrastructures. The Council also commended the Vice-Chancellor for the positive effort leading to the promotion of 4 Readers to full Chair Professors and 26 others to Associate Professors, one of the largest of such ever seen on the Campus.

Among the many praise-worthy developmental activities highlighted were the reconstruction of Idah Avenue, connecting quite a number of staff quarters, the reconstruction of Olusegun Obasanjo way connecting the University roundabout to the Idah Avenue, the reconstruction of Ogugu road connecting the University Auditorium to Idah Avenue, the reconstruction of Principal Quarters Road, etc.

A member of the Council, Hon Ali Atabor noted that the Council was pleasantly surprised by the spate and quality of development on the Campus within the short time since their last visit. The Council particularly commended the work on the perimeter fencing in the front of the University, the rehabilitation of the University Clinic, the many new sporting facilities, the commencement of the University broadband infrastructure and the effort to make electric light readily available on the Campus.
