NSCDC Commissions Multi Million Naira Table Water Factory in Kogi.
* Deploys Over 2,000 officers for Yuletide
The kogi state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC through her Cooperative and thrift Society has commissioned state of the art table water factory to boost its revenue base for the members.
This is just as the state Commandant, Ahmad Ahmad Gandi has assured residents and travellers of the safety of their lives and property as it has deployed over two thousand officers and men to ensure hitch free Christmas and New year celebration across the state.
Commandant Gandi gave the assurance on Monday in Lokoja while commissioning table water factory built by the Corps’ Cooperative and thrift Society.
Commandant Ahmad Gandi who is the 17th Commandant of the Corps in kogi state described the project as a milestone in the history of the commands across the country, said the project was a mark of honour by the leadership of the cooperative for his tenure at the command.
He noted that although he approved the project , but , he was not certain that he would be the one to commission it, applauded the Executives of the cooperative for excellent job by delivery the edifice within the record time of six months.
He commended the leadership and members of the cooperative for the ingenuity in establishing business concern that will boost revenue base of the organisation.
” I commend the chairman and his Executive members for the ingenuity in setting up the table water factory. The factory has met the standards of both the NAFDAC and other regulatory organs of the state. This project, i must confess is the first of kinds in the command and most other commands across the country.
” I challenge you today to adopt this project as yours. I urge you to be the marketers of the products. You are expected to grow the product, as the product you have is of international standard, hence , you have no problem with marketing it to your neighborhoods and to the outside world. I must warn you that no matter the quality of the project, saboteurs can rip off the gains in seconds, hence, you are collectively enjoined to take ownership of the project.” He advised.
The commandant stated that the command under his watch has been able to contribute its quota to the reduction of crimes and criminality across the state.
He commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his unflinching support in terms of logistics, other necessities and boosting the morale of officers and men , saying the modest achievement he would have recorded , wouldn’t have been possible without the cooperation of the Governor.
In a remark, the chairman of the Cooperative and the initiator of the project, SC Mohammed Umar, noted that at the inauguration of the present leadership of the cooperative, he did promised to surprise the cooperators with projects that will add value to their membership, saying this table water factory project was one one such intended projects.
He assured that as part of its investment drive to reduce over dependence on bank loans for members, more productive ventures would be established.
He said, the factory will be run by the cooperative for three months and to be handed over to willing investors , even as he solicited for cooperation and understanding of members to enable the project perform according to the installed capacity.
He commended Commandant Ahmad Gandi for his exemplary leadership role in the command, which culminated in the birth of the project.
Recalls that the table water factory initiated six months ago is expected to shore up the revenue base and reduce over dependence on bank loans with its high interest rate.
