The Workers of Geemony Kleaners, a cleaning outfit in Kogi state have expressed their appreciation to Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo for the patronage and provision of conducive working environment for the company to create a clean, beautiful and healthy landscapes of the state capital, Lokoja.
This is as the staff praised the Chief Executive Officer of Geemony Kleaners, Abdulganiyu Badamasuiy for the payment of two months salaries, saying his management skills have kept the company moving , even in the face of economic downturn.
Speaking with Independent at their various duty posts and in their numbers at the Mohammadu Buhari Civic Centre, the staff acknowledged the commitment of the Management to defray their April arrears and July salaries .
In her remarks, Anako Ohunene, a unit Manager at Mohammadu Buhari Civic Centre, expressed concern over the influx of ghost workers who pose as real workers, a situation that has created challenges with regular payment of salaries.
She fingered the activities of some managers who have been working with some mischief makers to create poor image for the company, pointing out that the Management had paid July salary
She assured that the Management will continue to do its best to ensure that the backlog of may and June would soon be paid to Workers.
In their separate remarks, Mustapha Mimi, Otaru Sikiru and Comfort Musa,; Bako Grace and Yakubu James appreciated the Geemony Kleaners for its concern for the welfare and well-being of the workers as shown by the payment of April arrears.
Recalled that since the introduction of Geemony Kleaners into the sanitation and beautification ecosystem of the state,Lokoja, the State capital has experienced a new turn, with residents appreciative of the good job of the cleaning outfit.
Geemony Kleaners with about 300 staff on nominal roll who are working round the clock to ensure the cleanliness and beautification of the state was awarded the contract for evacuation of wastes in Lokoja.
