NGO solicits govt. Assistance for indigent student to pay school at Zaria Aviation College

The Chairperson of Kogi NGOs Network, (KONGONET), Ambassador Idris Ozovehe Muraina, has lend his voice in the call for government to offer Financial assistance to Enejoh Faith Unekwu-Ojo, who was recently offered admission to study Standard Pilot course at the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria.

Ambassador Muraina stated this against the backdrop of Unekwu-Ojo father’s appeal to Kogi State Government to help him defrail the amount of Twenty-Three Million, Two hundred and Twenty Five thousand, Two hundred naira, (N23,225,200.00) only to cover the course fee and tertiary Institution insurance scheme Levy.

Speaking further he said “As Chairperson of Kogi NGOs Network (KONGONET), I wholeheartedly support Enejoh Faith Unekwu-Ojo father’s heartfelt request for financial assistance to enroll his daughter in the school of aviation in Zaria.

“It is crucial for the Kogi State government to consider this appeal on humanitarian grounds and extend a state scholarship to Faith, empowering her to achieve her lifelong ambition and bring pride to our state.

“It is alao envisaged that she will be an asset to the state, particularly when the proposed Kogi Airport come on stream.

Investigation revealed that, what makes the admission of Enejoh Faith Unekwu-Ojo more remarkable, is the fact that she is the only successful candidate from Kogi State. This achievement will not only bring pride to the family but also to Kogi state.

Enejoh Faith Unekwu-Ojo, had earlier completed a one year Standard Flight Operation course in the same institution.

According to the admission letter, sighted by Journalists, the school fee is to be paid to the college account; Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, through the CBN Gateway Remita Net) in any of the commercial banks.

Recall that The father of Enejoh Faith Unekwu-Ojo from Kogi state, Ali Enejoh, had in a letter called on the Kogi State Government and other spirited individuals to assist him in the payment of the school fee of his daughter, who was offered admission to study Standard Pilot course at the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria.

In a letter of appeal to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and made available to Journalists in Lokoja, Unekwu-Ojo is to pay the sum of Twenty-Three Million, Two hundred and Twenty Five thousand, Two hundred naira, (N23,225,200.00) only to cover the course fee and tertiary Institution insurance scheme Levy.

According to the father, he was initially full of joy and gratitude, knowing that his daughter has taken the first step towards realizing her dream, but however said his joy was short-lived as he was face with the daunting challenge of footing the bill.

“As a father, I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude knowing that my daughter has taken the first step towards realizing her dream. However your Excellency, my joy was short-lived as I am faced with a daunting challenge.

“Despite my best effort, I do not have the financial capacity to pay her school fees. The registration deadline is fast approaching and I am worried that her admission may be forfeited if we cannot meet the payment requirement within the next two weeks.

“In the light of this, I humbly appeal to your Excellency to kindly consider assisting in the payment of my daughter’s school fees to enable her meet the required time of two weeks. I believe your administration commitment to Education and Youth development aligns with my daughter’s aspiration.

He noted that the cheerful consideration of the Governor and other spirited individuals will not only be a lifeline to his daughter, but also an investment in the future of Kogi State.
