The Kogi State House of Assembly Member, representing Omala State Constituency, Hon. Umar Yahaya, has urged the Police and other security agencies in Kogi State to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Master Victor Ojoajogwu Judah, an indigene of Omala LGA.
Until his demise, Master Victor was a student of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.
According to the Lawmaker, he received several reports from constituents and the father of Master Victor regarding his disappearance and subsequent discovery of his corpse by the Police.
The Lawmaker stated that Victor, an indigene of Omala LGA, was a 400-level student in the Library and Information Science, Faculty of Education, and was found dead along Egume Road.
He called on the Kogi State Commissioner of Police to institute a high-powered investigation into the cause of death of the deceased student.
According to the Lawmaker, reports from his constituency indicated that the 400-level student had been declared missing about a month prior.
He further stated that information from the family and other constituents revealed that the police later discovered his corpse.
He advocated for an investigation to uncover the immediate and remote causes of the death, thereby preventing similar incidents in the future.
According to the Lawmaker, information from the deceased’s family stated that Master Victor was born on January 22, 2000, and urged for a thorough investigation to help forestall future incidents within and around the university campus.
