Delta; Oborewori Under 17 Unity Cup Commences August 3

The Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta state under 17 UNITY CUP for the eight local government Areas that made the Delta Central Senatorial zone will begin on August 3, 2025 in Warri.
The competition is being sponsored by the Chairman of Arthur Ferdinand Ltd , Chief Amurun Idama Esq.
The tournament will be played on a round robin format among the eight local Government Areas ,
The inauguration and draws for the competition was held on Sunday the 13th of July 2025 with the sponsor inaugurating the local organising committee(LOC) members of 15 major LOC and 16 sub- Committees members at the Kariot hotel and suites .
Notable dignitaries were also present among whom were the Director- General of the Warri UVWIE Environmental Development agency, Chief Godwin Ejiyere , Delta state football Association former and present Chairmen , the Chairmen of the various local Government football councils and heads coaches in all the local government areas.
These LOC members were fully kitted by the sponsor, gifting them ,Jerseys ,face caps , canvas amongst others.
The local government teams were not left out , as they were also kitted with a complete sets of Jerseys with lots of prizes and individual prizes .
Details of Prizes to be won are as follows-
Appearance fee of 1million each to be given to all eight local Government areas.
All head Coaches, their Assistants and secretaries of all eight local governments fully kitted with Jerseys, canvas and tracksuits .
The finalist will get another set of Jerseys and football boots all round.
The last four teams( semi-finalist ) will get another sets of Jersey and 1 million each
Other Prizes are as follows:
1st Prize – 5million with a giant gold trophy and Golden medals .
2nd Prize – 3million with a silver trophy and silver medals
3rd Prize – 2million with bronze medals
4th Prize – 1mIllion .
Other consolatory and individual prizes includes ;
Highest goal scorer award
Best goal keeper award
Best player award
Most valuable team award
Best coach award .
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on the 3rd of August 2025 at the Ekpan Police Station football field in Warri with Ethiope East vs Ughelli North at 3pm .
Various committees have also been constituted for ease of work schedules by the Chairman of the LOC.
The tournament will be taking place every weekend at the different designated venues around the Delta Central region .
The Chairman of the local organising committee LOC is Ex Nigeria international , Mr Edema fuludu Mon ,the Vice Chairman and head of technical is Mr Victor Odairi, Chairman UVWIE football council , while the secretary is Mr Peter Ospiro .
In his address to mark the occasion, The Chairman , Arthur Ferdinand Ltd , Chief Amurun Idama Esq said promotion of youth football will expose them to youth football locally and internationally.
Idama also pointed out that football competitions are also capable of discovering hidden talents and potentials from the grassroots.
He promised to continue to support football games at all times.
