Bello charges indigenes to invest in Kogi state, as DOA cooking Gas commence operation in Lokoja.

Kogi state governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has called on the indigenes of the state to invest in all spheres of state economy so as to provide job opportunities for the youths in order to reduce restiveness and poverty in the state.

This is just as he said the state has provided enabling environment for private investments to strive by using the structure of government to envelope their businesses.

The Governor who was  represented by the Commissioner for commerce and industry, Hon. Gabriel Olofu gave  the charge yesterday during the official unveiling of DOA cooking Gas plant located at opposite Lokogoma phase 11 lokoja , the state capital, said the DOA has become the newest private enterprise to heed the call to join hands with his administration to move the state forward.

He promise to partner and synergise with the corporate and individual organisations who want to do business in the state , adding that the state has put in place mechanism to ensure that tax holiday is granted to new investors in the state.

He commended the promoter of the DOA premium cooking Gas for his commitment to the development of the state as he resisted all entreaties to locate the company in the state.
He therefore urged the indigenes of the state both at home and abroad to emulate the Chairman and chief executive officer of the company to establish their businesses in the state to assist the government in providing massive employment for the teeming unemployed youths .

According to him, this massive investment was brought to the state to help reduce unemployment thereby bring down youth restiveness and insecurity across the state.
He hinted that based on the high cost of staple goods in the state, his ministry has procured standard measurements and distributed to market women across the markets in the state so as to prevent sharp practices.

In a remark the chairman and Chief Executive officer of DOA Gas Mr. David Achimugu , noted that although he lives in Lagos, he is passionate about the growth of the state which prompted him to establish the firm in Lokoja instead of Lagos in order to contribute his quota to the development of the state.
Achimugu explained that although DOA integrated platform is a fast growing company incorporated in 2017 which has been playing leading role in development of Agricultural sector but has to diversify into clean and renewable energy sector to meet the demands of consumers at a competitive price.
He added that the opportunity created for investors by the federal government who set target of five Million Metric tonnes of liquified Petroleum Gas LPG for the nation by 2022 prompted him to introduce the DOA cooking Gas into the market to create healthier life for the people.
According to him.” A report by petroleum Products pricing Regulatory Agency PPPRA states that Nigeria Consumed 840,594.37 MT of LPG in 2019, indicating an increase of 60.5%of over 635,452.061MT recorded in 2018, the report also goes on to say that the country is on track to meet the five Million MT target by the year 2022 as set in the Nigeria Gas Policy of 2017.
” With that in mind, DOA Gas was established to do our part in fulfilling the mandate and to create a healthier life for Nigerians by providing access to a cleaner source of energy for cooking, vehicular transportation and other domestic and industrial uses.
” Clean cooking energy has come to stay and as such ,should be made readily available to end users , and , as a company, We express gratitude to the Department of petroleum Resources DPR , Kogi state Government and all the Agencies with protection and promotion of gas sector as we unveil the newest Gas plant in the country in the market.” He explained.
