Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has been called upon to look into the plight of Pentioners in the state.
The statement was made by the Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Pentioners,( NUP )Niger state chapter,Comrade Abdullahi Baba Sani, said civil servants that have served for thirty years and those that are retiring on daily basis are been denied of their entitlements.
Comrade Abdullahi Baba Sani described the situation as worrisome since those that retired before them are yet to be paid their gratuities.
He said the Union appreciate the efforts of the state government for paying thirty percent to those who retired earlier, stressed that last payment was in 2017.
The Secretary Comrade Baba Sani then appealed to government to put more efforts so that those that have benefited from the thirty percent are paid their balance of seventy percen to enable those behind be captured.
He further appealed to retirees in the state to be patient with the government as the Union is leaving no stone unturned to see that their challenges are looked into.
