Niger NUP tackles MLGCA over Screening.

Niger state Council of Nigeria Union of Pentioners NUP has faulted the refusal to granting the Niger state Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs audience to discuss pressing issue confronting the council.

The Union in a statement signed by its Secretary, Comrade Abdullahi Baba Sani made available to Journalists in Minna, lamented that all efforts to by the Nigeria Union of Pentioners, Niger state council to pay the Chairman Amalgamation of local government of Nigeria ALGON Niger state Chapter request to discuss issue affecting Senior citizens of the state, pensioners was turned down severally.

The Secretary Comrade Baba Sani mentioned that the Union is shocked and is disappointed with the available information that the Local Government council Chairmen in the state have statutory responsibility to auditing and screening for last month pension allowance.

The Secretary stated that the Union is not objecting to the screening and auditing of pensioners but decried the quatom of suffering encountered by pensioners at the local government level.

He then appealed to the local government Chairmen in the state to settle last year October and last month pension allowance to local government pensioners before embarking on any screening and auditing exercise at their respective council.
