Special Advisers commend Gov. Bello on projects in kogi rural communities .
The Forum of Special Advisers (SAs) to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi, have reiterated that the governor has placed topmost priority on rural communities as far as projects’ execution are concerned in the state.
The forum made the disclosure while speaking to journalists during the day-two of their inspection tour to key projects executed by the governor in some communities in Okene and Ajaokuta Local Government Areas on Thursday, tagged: ”GYB Legacy Projects’ Tour”.
Treasuretimes reports that the forum had on Wednesday embarked on inspection tour of some legacy projects executed by the State Government in some communities across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The first port of çall was the ongoing construction of Ultramodern General Hospital in Eganyi, Ajaokuta, where the Special Adviser on Special Projects, Hon. Abdulkareem Suleiman Onyekehi, who is also an indigene, said the hospital would be the first of its kind in the area,
”What we used to have were cottage hospitals, but today, we are having state of art ultramodern general and one of the best in the country, as it would be fully equipped when completed.
”We need to inspect the projects and performances of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello (GYB) across the state, and show Nigerians and the world that GYB is focusing on rural development and not propaganda.
”The infrastructural projects are the critical development ongoing at the rural areas, so, His Excellency is fair and just to everyone. Our people are happy with the projects”, Onyekehi said.
He commended the governor for ensuring that projects are equitably distributed at the across the three senatorial districts of the state
Also Speaking, Pharm. Clement Hamidu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters, noted that the hospital will be an ultramodern secondary facility that would have almost all the healthcare departments.
”By the time the hospital is completed it will provide quality healthcare services for the people of the rural communities and the entire local government areas.
”We thank GYB for the initiative because the same project is being replicated across the three senatorial districts of the state”, Hamidu said.
Earlier, the forum paid courtesy visit to the palace of the Ohi of Eganyi and Chairman Ajaokuta Traditional Council, HRH Alh. Musa Achuja, where the forum’s Chairman, Hon. Usman Ochidi, thanked the monarch for his prayer and support for the governor.
Ochidi said that the tour was aimed at projecting GYB Legacy projects being executed across the three senatorial districts of the state to the world.
He noted that the governor remained very much committed and dedicated to the welfare of the people of the state, adding that they want him to replicate the gesture at the national level.
He said that out of the politicians having presidential ambition, only GYB has the antecedents to be the Nigeria’s president.
In his response, the Ohi of Eganyi expressed joy over the visit and thanked the governor for doing what all his predecessors had never done for the people of Ajaokuta and the state at large.
Achuja stressed that what GYB had done for the people of Ajaokuta no governor had done it in the past in terms of appointments and projects.
He, therefore thanked the governor for his giant strides in the critical sectors of the economy particularly in education, security, health, youth empowerment and infrastructures.
”I enjoin Nigerians to think well, and support GYB to be the president of Nigeria”, the paramount ruler said.
Some residents of Eganyi, Rukayat Yusuf and Bose Jimoh, both eulogised the governor for the construction of an ultramodern hospital that would deliver quality healthcare services to their people.
They prayed that God would continue to protect, bless and elevate him to a higher position to become the president of Nigeria.
At Okene, the forum visited LGEA School Agassa, where the governor completed his primary education.
The headmaster of the school Mallam Mohammed Bello, thanked the governor for giving the school a befitting facelift.
”We thankHis Excellency for the golden opportunity that had been given to this school; we are happy and grateful.
”May God grant the governor the grace to get the particular post he is aiming at now”, he prayed.
The Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Hon. Isah Ohiani, who also attended the school, commended the governor for transforming the school as well as many other schools across the state.
”We are very optimistic considering the commitment of the governor to educational development, that the children of Kogi stand to benefit more in quality education in the coming days”, Ohiani said
The rehabilitated roads visited in Okene include: Ozuwaya-Icheba-Idosumi-Okene-Eba; Agassa-Okene-Eba-Uruvukura; and Agassa – Ukpokoro roads with quality drainages to control erosion.
Speaking, the Special Adviser on Internlly Generated Revenue (IGR), Hon. Suleiman Hameed, said the 16km Agassa – Ukpokoro road was constructed in 1979 and the ancestral home of the governor.
According to Hameed, the road had been a death trap for about six years due to dilapidation until the intervention of the governor.
He, therefore commended the governor for rehabilitating the road in a short time and all other linking roads with quality erosion control drainages.
On his part, the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Hon. Saliu Ibrahim, commended the governor for rehabilitating Ozuwaya-Icheba-Idosumi-Okene-Eba road for the benefits of his people.
He noted that many people had lost their lives on the 20km road which transverse four communities, due its dilapidated condition before it was rehabilitated by the governor.
Ibrahim thanked the governor for his intervention, saying it had brought a relief, boost the economy and the wellbeing of the people of the communities.
