Stakeholders thump up for ActionAid SARVE11 project for empowering 1, 614 women, Youth in kogi,state.

The stakeholders in the implementation of ActionAid Nigeria projects , have expressed satisfaction with the performance of Sarve11 project for empowering over one thousand six hundred and fourteen , women and youths across six LGAs in kogi state.
The Country Director Ene Obi gave the commendation, in a key note address during the End of project “System and Structure Strengthening Approach against Radicalisation to Violent Extremism SARVE 11″ Ceremony held on Wednesday in Lokoja, kogi state,
The Country Director noted that the SARVE 11 project was able to focus on identifying the fundamental causes of violence that exist in communities and worked hard in profering real time solutions that has mitigated and stimulated the people to embrace peace.
She said the project utilised thoughtful engagement of young people and youth networks, which it used to achieve de-radicalisation and peace building in the state bearing in mind the potentials of youth in building peace in communities.
Aside empowering youth and women, over 120 mid and high levels media professionals on conflict sensitive reportage were empowered even as 60 police officers has equally been trained to respond to rising issues of violent extremism through application of fundamental Human Rights approach.
She disclosed that the ActionAid Nigeria in partnership with Participation Initiative for Behavioural Change in Development PIBCID is committed to ending poverty with funding from the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund. GCERRF have brought succour to 12 Communities in the state.
The Country Director, Represented by the Director, Organisational Effectiveness, Funmilayo Oyefusi, said ActionAid Nigeria has supported and pursued the domestication of the United Nation’s Security Council Resolution 2250 on youth, peace and Security in Kogi state.
According to the Director, ” ActionAid has been working in Nigeria—since 1999 in various areas of reselience building, and that the reduction of poverty which is man made has been the main objectives of her Organisation
” Globally, ActionAid works in 46 Countries with the believe that a world without poverty and injustice across the globe is possible adding that the founder Cecil Jackson Cole a British Businessman whose intention of supporting education of 88 children living in poverty in India and Kenya in 1972 has benefited millions of persons across the continents.”
She commended the Governor of Kogi state Alhaji Yahaya Bello for creating enabling environment for the Organisation to operate even as she thanked the Deputy Speaker, Kogi state House of Assembly for the relentless effort that saw to the passage and assent to Youth Development Act.
In a remark, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed commended ActionAid for her contribution to building reselience to radicalisation and ending poverty among the vulnerable groups in the state.
He noted that he was proud to work with the Organisation in the production of Youth Development Act with eventual setting up of the commission.
Also speaking , the Ohimege Iguh Kotonkarfe, HRM Abdulrazaq Isah Koto applauded the ActionAid for stepping down youth restiveness and poverty among women in his domain

He called on well meaning corporate Organisations and individuals to bring relief to the vulnerable groups in the society adding that with less than #30m, the ActionAid was able to empower over 750 youths and women in the state.
Highlights of the event was the recognition of individuals and organisations that have contributed to the success of SARVE 11 projects in the state.
